John,
What's off topic? <g> Yes, that is the one and only Dee Dee that was in the show and works in the studio two floors above me. I don't think she does email, so if you want to email me privately with contact info (phone # perhaps) I'll pass it on to her.
Thanks for reading!

Hello..sorry to bother you with an off topic comment but I noticed that you mentioned that a Dee Topham lives and works in the studio above you. I went to RIT many years ago (1970-1974) with a Dee Dee Topham and was wondering if it could be the same person. I have not seen or heard from her in a long time and would love to get in touch with her if it is who i hope it is. Tell her Wernini is trying to contact her and I'm sure she will remember me. She can e-mail me if she likes if it's not too much trouble to give her my address..

Thank you,

Gay,
Well, I'm a soup guy...having a good one around for a few days works for me! A salad and some bread, who could ask for more? Glad you liked it, and the idea of the cranberry in the middle is a good one...I saw a curried squash soup with cranberry couli in a cooking magazine last month. OK, gotta run, just back for a bite of dinner as the kiln is blowing off water from the single-fired pots. Thanks for stopping by!

I made your\"Mikhail Zakin’s Demarest recipe)\" and we really enjoyed it. I think I made too much--used 2 butternut squash--and they must have been large! So it lasted for several days. But we found that it was much nicer after the first day. Not that it was not nice on the first day--it was--but exceptionally nice after that! AND I discovered that a spoonful of my cranberry sauce in the middle of the bowl looked beautiful and was the perfect accent for the soup! Thanks for sharing the recipe! Gay

I think you acquire tools along the way - when you are first starting out you think the tool is what will help you make the piece - better. Then after a few years your tool bin looks more like you described - cause you finally realize those 'better' pots come from you - not the tools.

I agree about the small pots, after my accident a few years ago, I had the hardest time with 'cups and bowls'. I switched to making larger pots! It's a lot easier on your back, hands elbows, etc. I've since been able to get back into the production scaled work, but I do notice the difference in soreness from the repetitive motions. Good luck. I'll see if Homer is is my neighborhood and send him your way.
